RECREATIONAL ATHLETES

Empowering Recreational Athletes Through Experience and Proven Systems

As a personal trainer, I aim to bridge the gap between world-class training methods and everyday athletes. Through my own experience, study, and practice, I strive to mediate the knowledge of the best training systems around the globe, tailoring them to fit the lives of those who balance fitness with careers, families, and passions outside the gym.

Why I Focus on Recreational Athletes

Recreational athletes are often overlooked in the fitness industry, which tends to focus on either elite performance or rapid transformations. Yet, these are the people who inspire me most—those who train for the love of movement, health, and personal growth while managing busy lives. My goal is to provide them with the tools and knowledge to make their time in the gym, outdoors, and at home efficient, effective, and rewarding.

The Best Systems, Adapted for Real Life

I always prioritize StrongFirst principles, which form the core of my GPP training philosophy. StrongFirst is about simplicity, power, and mastery of fundamental movements using kettlebells, barbells, and bodyweight. It builds strength, improves stamina, and increases mobility that directly translates into real life.

However, there are times and places when we don't have access to kettlebells and barbells, and doing our bodyweight exercises is just way too hard to start with, so these methods might not be optional.

That’s the first example of how TRX Suspension Training becomes invaluable. With a suspension trainer, I can help clients build strength-endurance, mobility, and stability while maintaining the StrongFirst principles of tension, breathing, and alignment.

TRX also offers an excellent way to regress or progress movements, depending on experience levels. I am also using this tool during my deloading period between 2 minimalistic strength cycles when our body needs some variety and full-body movement to recover.

Lastly, I like to test the strength we gained during the kettlebell programs and check how much we carried over to more complex and rotational movements.

I incorporate the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to ensure safe and effective movement patterns. By assessing mobility and stability, I can address imbalances and reduce the risk of injury before clients pick up a kettlebell.

In short:

• StrongFirst: My priority and foundation for strength and performance in GPP.

• TRX: My go-to tool when external weights aren’t practical due to space or equipment constraints.

• FMS: My guide for identifying movement issues and creating safe, personalized programs.

My Experience, Your Progress

As a practitioner and educator, I’ve tested these systems on myself and my clients. I know what works when challenges arise and how to overcome them. My experience allows me to help recreational athletes avoid common pitfalls and focus on sustainable progress.

Training for Life, Not Just for the Gym

For my clients, fitness is a means to live a fuller life—not the sole focus of their day. Whether building strength for a sport, gaining mobility for daily activities, or simply staying pain-free and energized, my approach centers on functional, practical results.

Conclusion

My journey as a personal trainer is about more than sets and reps—it’s about building connections, sharing knowledge, and empowering people to reach their potential without sacrificing the life they love outside the gym. I’m here to help recreational athletes become stronger, healthier, and more confident, all through methods I trust and have experienced myself.
